The Board has been in discussion with the City of Sumrall about the drainage problems. The City has hired an Engineer, and plans have been approved to repave the streets and address the culvert at the intersection of The Oaks Drive and Spanish Oaks. However, we as Homeowners should make it a priority, if possible, to be present for the town hall meetings. The next one is Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 6:30pm.
We are the Homeowners' Association of The Oaks in Sumrall, Mississippi. We are situated off Highway 589 and Highway 42 and feature beautiful brick homes and contemporary cottage homes. We look forward to making The Oaks the best place to live in Sumrall.

Thanks to our Pool Committee
We have experienced several hurdles with equipment failures this summer. Without the tireless efforts of this group, especially Mr. Jerry Ford, who knows where we would be?

Boats in The Oaks
Boats and Property Value
Many have mentioned the abundance of boats popping up around The Oaks. Unfortunately, these are in violation with the subdivision’s Covenants (see Article 10,Section 5; see below). Realtors have approached the Board noting that this diminishes the appearance and the value of the homes in the subdivision. Boats should be removed by August 30 in order to avoid fines or penalties.
SECTION 5. TRUCKS, BOATS, MOBILE HOME TRAILERS, OTHER VEHICLES AND TEMPORARY BUILDINGS No truck or vehicle exceeding one (1) ton shall be stored or parked on any Lot, Common Area or other area at any time. All automobiles owned or used by Owners or occupants, other than temporary guests and visitors, shall, as far as possible, be parked in enclosures which screen the automobile from street view. No temporary building structure, mobile home or house trailer shall be moved upon or otherwise placed or permitted upon any Lot or Common Area. Recreational Vehicles, including boats, may be parked on any Lot on which a residence has been constructed provided they are kept on private driveway or inside an enclosed building or area.

Homeowners Meeting April 6, 2015
Our first "official" meeting for the new HOMEOWNER OWNED AND RUN was held on April 6, 2015 at the Lion's Club Park at 6:30 PM.
Here are the highlights from that meeting:
Here are the highlights from that meeting:
- The Board will have its first meeting on Monday, April 13 at 6:30. The items that were brought up at last night’s meeting will certainly be looked at, but we also ask that if you have any other questions, concerns, or new business you would like the board to address, please email those to me by Monday. I’ll make sure it is included on our agenda.
- Right now we have several pressing issues that need our attention, such as 1) securing bids & making decisions about lawn maintenance, 2) readying the pool for the summer, and 3) getting a clear picture of the financials. These will be of top priority right off the bat.
- Justin Esser, our Secretary / Treasurer, will be working to get out receipts and statements for our yearly dues. He will also have minutes from last night’s mtg available soon.
- With over 70 homeowners in The Oaks, we still lack contact info for those unable to attend last night’s mtg. Please help us secure this information! We need email addresses. It will cut costs tremendously to not print newsletters every time an announcement is needed.
